Who am I?

I have been working with people for over thirty years. I studied Social Anthropology in London and worked with students before training for ordination as a priest in the church of England. After seven years of parish work I became a university chaplain, to concentrate on offering pastoral care and support. During the eighteen years I spent in that role I served on the management of the Oxford University Counselling Service and managed my college's welfare provision. The experience of working closely with young adults and with staff in crisis and in the challenges of emotional development led me to train as a Psychodynamic Counsellor and Psychotherapist. I qualified in 2013, and completed a year of Masters degree research in 2014. During that period I spent five years as a volunteer counsellor and board member for a local low cost counselling organisation called The Listening Centre in Blackbird Leys, before returning to London in 2015.
